Similan Liveaboard

Manta Ray Koh Tachai

Similan liveaboards 2017

Similan Liveaboard 2017 this coming high season should be as great as it was last season. We experienced giant manta rays swimming all around the scuba divers as well as the snorkelers at Ko Tachai and Ko Bon and amazingly and very unusually island number 8 of the Similan Islands and  Island number 4. This is a rare occurrence for these particular islands. That is, why I always advise customers to go on a liveaboard because on a day trip you will have two dives in a day but on a Similan Liveaboard  you will scuba dive 4 times a day. Which makes your chances of seeing more amazing marine life. Just because of the amount of dive on a Similan Liveaboard you will get to do. Your chances of see a manta or a whale shark will double. The reason behind this is – you get to scuba dive first thing in the morning – 7am. When no other Similan day trip boats will be around. So there is other scuba diver there to scare the aquatic fish away. Also you will be diving on a night dive or sunset dive. This depends on which you prefer to do. I always recommend doing both. One day, dive a night and second day, dive a sunset dive.

are far more relaxing than day trip diving. You can relax in between each dive. Discuss with your dive buddy everything that you have seen underwater. There is a 3-hour surface interval between each dive. Enough time for food, relax and dive again.

At the end of your diving safari you will have made friends with people who have the same interests as you do.

January, February, March and May next season should be exceptional. We did have some coral bleaching last season, but you can see it was making a recovery.

So what do I predict for the similan island next season.  Great diving, some unusual encounters with aquatic animals that should not be in the Andaman ocean.  Last year we had that various types of whales.  Which where not native to the Simlans. So anything can happen underwater. Which is the great thing about scuba diving. Everything is possible to see. Nobody knows what you are going to see. We can speculate because of some fishes behavior pattern but we can never guarantee. Then again keep you eyes open because with scuba diving everything to see is possible in the Similan Islands.

Another great reason to go on a Similan liveaboard in 2017 is you will get to dive Koh Tachai. If you have watched the news. Koh Tachai has been closed to snorkelers This will give Ko Tachai a chance to recover from the impact of all the snorkelers. Divers are allowed to dive this dive site. Which will make scuba diving here all the more beautiful and peaceful. So day trip snorkels will not be allowed to visit this island. Ko tachai beach will one day be opened again to the public but for now. This beautiful island be left to mother nature to replenish.
