Similan Liveaboards – 2016

A Simlan liveaboard is the best way to explore the Similan Islands. That’s if you have the time. Some customers do not have the time for a classic liveaboard – 4days/4nigts. But most people have at least, at the minimum 2days/ 1 night for scuba diving.

This is a great option for people short on time but you have to be very careful of the dive sites you choose. A classic 4day/4 night will do all the best dive site and some of the not so beautiful dive sites  – but remember the not so beautiful dive site can still have mantas or whale sharks passing by. What I mean by so beautiful – maybe the corals are not as abundant as on other dive sites.

On a 2day/1night liveaboard

we go each day to a different area of the similan islands – maybe one day we go to island 8 or 9. The next day 4,5 and 6. When you’re considering your option take into account. What you want to see and experience. You have so many option to choose from but with are help we can help you decide the best option for you. The most popular is the 2day/1night with 6 dives but I always advise the 4day/4 night Similan option.

A Similan liveaboard usually, will leave the pier at 8pm. By that time, you will have your equipment set up on the dive deck and will have eaten your dinner by 9pm. Then the Liveaboard will set sail for the Islands. Most companies will reach the Similan islands ny 12pm – midnight The next morning you will get a wake up call at the earliest 6:30am. A light breakfast involving tea, coffe and some fruit. A dive briefing on the dive site. How to enter and exit  the water, hand signals – how much air do you have?, Is there something wrong?, I’m having problem equalizing. We are going this direction. Look at that, can you see it/. Are you OK? How much air do you have? We are now going to do a safty stop.

When the dive briefing id complete. You will go down-stare to the dive platform and start getting in to your equipment, after you will do a dive check with your buddy.

B,W,R,A F.

B –buoyancy – inflate you BCD

W – weights, how you put them on?

R – releases – 3 releases on you BCD, One on the tank strap

A – Air – is your air turned on – inhale through your regulator, while looking at your gauges. If the needle moves the air is not tuned on. Let me explain.

Some people turn the air on when they are setting up their equipment. Then they turn the air off and go and have dinner. The gauge will show you are at 200 bar.  Later when you go diving if you have not takin a breath it will show 200 bar but before you jump if you take a breath and you air is turned of it will go to zero.

F- fins and mask and fun.
