Koh Tachai – Amazing 2 dives

Andy and Karen came into Pirate Divers looking for a day trip diving and snorkeling  tour. Andy an experienced diver and his wife, Karen wanted to see what was on offer. Andy, I found out is an Advanced Diver with 50 dives. The last time he went diving was 6 months ago in Germany. He wanted to go to the Similan Islands with his wife. Andy wanted some information on which was the best dive sites for him and what was the best snorkeling site for his wife. They wanted to be together on the boat. Karen , only cared about Andy getting the best dive site.

Options to choose from:

1. Koh Tachai, excellent dive site, last year I think ,Koh Tachai was better than Richelieu rock.  The visibility was crystal clear.  Schools of fish every where. A dive site not to missed. Karen can also snorkel on Koh Tachai reef But Karen can not go onto the Koh Tachai island.
2. Richelieu rock-world famous dive site. harlequins shrimp, sea horses  and soft corals all can be seen on this dive site. Karen can snorkel but I don’t think it is a safe snorkeling site. At the top of Richelieu rock. There is current and  you can get pushed in the rocks..
3. Similan islands, Great dive sites but not as good as Ko Tachai or Richelieu. Karen can go onto the Islands and walk around exploring, While Andy is diving.

These are the option I gave Andy and Karen. They asked me my opinion. Karen was not really that interested in the snorkeling. All she really wanted to do, is sit on the boat and wait for Andy to come back from his dive. So, My advice was. Go to Koh Tachai. make two beautiful dives there. Karen can snorkel if she wants or site on the boat, relaxing.

In the End. They both went to Koh Tachai. Andy came back the next day to Pirate Divers, to say thanks, He had  an amazing 2 dives. Karen snorkeled once and relax on the boat, waiting for her husband to come back on his second dive.
