Useful information about Khao lak
The word Khao lak means Lak Mountain because she is surrounded by a very beautiful mountain range.People coming to Khao lak can fly in to Phuket International airport (HRT) or Krabi Airport.
You can then take a taxi from the airport, It takes around 70mins. Price is 1,500 Bath or we can organize a Taxi pick-up for you at 1,200 Baht. Or you can get to the main road and get the local bus 120 bath. It takes around Two to Three hours to get to khao lak by bus from Phuket.
Khao Lak has 25km of unspoiled beach front land but there has been some development of resorts of late. Khao lak does have many hidden beaches, which will make you feel you have found your own private paradise.
There is a vibrant Bang Niang market on Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays. In high season it can be on every day. It’s a great place to sample cheap Thai food and to stare at the colorful exotic fruits they have on sale there. Use your bartering skills to get that souvenir at a price that suits you.
Don’t worry there are banks and ATM everywhere!

Khao lak is a very popular departure area for all Scuba divers and snorkelers. Liveaboards and day trips all leave from Tabla mu pier. The Similan Island is the real reason Khao lak is so popular. The close proximity of the similan Islands makes this an ideal place to explore these beautiful Islands.

Khao Sok was declared a national park in 1991.It’s one of the oldest mangroves in the world They say it’s one hundred and sixty-six Million years old. There are many trips to choose from. Day trips to Elephant trekking expeditions or over night stays on Cheow Lan lak to visiting the many caves Phang Nga has to offer.
