Khao lak,getting ready for the high season. I have known Rebekka in the diving world for over 6 years. We are both instructors and have worked in the Similan Islands for many years. My problem was I never knew, how good an artist she was. She wanted to paint a mural for me. Pirate Divers opened last year and it looked a little, let’s say Bare. She could have painted anything from a whale-shark to a Manta. The usual stuff you see when you walk in to dive shop. We both decided on a lion fish – it’s her favorite fish. I loved the idea of a lion fish because you will differently see various types of lion fish in the Similan & Surin Islands. The whole process took a few months to complete. Rebekka is an instructor and could only work on the mural when she was not working at teaching open water course or guiding.
The Amazing Rebekka came to Pirate Divers shop in Khao Lak. The previous couple of days she had painted the lion fish on paper.We now had to decide which angle of the lion fish suited the shop.
The next step was cutting out the lion fish and tracing it’s out line on to the wall.

It was not finished yet but a break was

Brenda helped make my time in khao lak one of the best holidays I have ever been on. She was so friendly and could not have been more helpful. every tour she recommended we went on and they were spectacular. We took a trip to the Similan Islands for diving and snorkeling….and then on her recommendation we took one of the temple tours with a really excellent guide. even if we walked passed pirate divers in the evening she would welcome us in for a chat to see how we got on with our trip.
She is so well established in the industry she was able to offer us really competitive prices…even on out taxi back to the airport.
I have to say if it wasn’t for her advice on where to go the holiday would not have been anywhere as good as it was….we enjoyed a few beers together too.
