Discover Scuba Diving
Similan Islands – Discover Scuba Diving
The first step to opening up the world beneath the waves, is a two day course to Discover Scuba Diving
Why!
The great thing about Discover Scuba Diving is, its a taster to see if its for you – what could be better! There is no pressure at all to pass exams, just clear, professional instruction from an enthusiastic instructor. Your instructor just wants to show you the skills to allow you to dive safely and discover the wonders the sea has to offer.
The Course – Pool Time
Our instructor explain all the basics, then talked us through the equipment and how it all worked. I felt quite nervous putting on the equipment. It feels very strange out of water, but once in the pool it becomes weightless. In the pool all the skills; regulator clearing and recovery, masking clearing and equalizing your ears were explained, demonstrated and patiently repeated. This is your session, so ask questions and repeat anything you don’t feel comfortable with – but it is much easier than you think, so enjoy it too!
I have observed many instructor during five years of diving and I am amazed at how well they demonstrate so calmly, clearly and slowly, what they require you to do and most of all, the confidence they give you.
Discover Scuba Diving – Two Dives
Feeling confident, we were looking forward to going to sea to do our two dives, perhaps a little apprehensive. Our weather was calm, but it is different in the sea to the pool, for one, it is much more exciting and much more to see! Just remember all you practised on your Discover Scuba Diving pool session. Relax and enjoy your dives, which will be no deeper than 12metres.
We really enjoyed our day trip to the Similan Islands, the boat, the trip out, lunch and the company of other divers too, all giving us the encouragement and confidence throughout our day.
Book it!
I now have 80 dives, but you never forget your very first diving experience…so take the plunge, book yourself on a Discover Scuba Diving course in the Similan Islands and if you love it, the next step is an Open Water course!
