Day 3, Similan Open Water Course – Diving Day

Day 3, Similan Open Water Course. The Similan Islands are closed, until 1st of November. So in fact it’s not really a Similan Open water Course because we are diving Phuket dive sites

I pick David up at 6 30am because we had to make our way down to Phuket. Normally if the Similan Island were opened. I would be picking David up at 7:30am and we would be heading toward one of the top ten dive sites in the world. It’s a 2 hour journey down to Phuket, mainly because of the construction work being done on the roads. we reach our destination

We board the boat and begin to set our equipment up.After we are finished, we go up to the top deck for breakfast. I explain that the first dive will be just for fun.The second dive he will have some skills to perform. The first dive was Racha yai. The visibility is ok and I must say David was a little apprehensive but once he was in the water he relaxed and calmed down. Once he saw his first turtle he was hooked. The second dive was even better. All the information you have learnt from your first two days of the open water course all come together when you start diving. Things start to make sense. Tomorrow, dive 3 & 4 maximum depth 18 meters. Final exam.
