The Similan Islands are opened.

Yellow Sea Horse at Richelieu Rock

The Similan Islands are opened.

The low season here in Khao lak. Has been far to long. The six months working( High Season) came to an end to quickly, the diving was still excellent and we could of all stayed here another few months. Last year was Amazing. The diving  was one of the best years I have every experienced. Whale sharks and Manta where everywhere on Koh Tachai and Richelieu rock. The Similans has had a rest of 6 months away from all us divers and I’m sure she is ready to receive all us divers and Snorkellers once again. You can feel the buzz around town as the sleepy place called Khao lak is coming back to life. Here comes high season.

Not all the boats are ready but the few that are, are getting full quickly. Unfortunately the weather in Khao Lak is not great, mainly due to the fact that Khao Lak is surrounded by mountains and it keeps the moisture in. So we tend to get lots of rain in low season and sometimes at the start of high season. The reports coming back from the customers is that the Similan Islands weather is great and when can they go back to the Similans and get away from this rain. Maybe this time we can go to diving to KohTachai or Koh Bon?

There is lots to do here in Khao lak. The national park – Khao Sok. Is a must see, as yet untouched and still as beautiful as the day I came here ten years ago. There are lots of land activities here for everyone, Trekking, Elephant rides canoeing. You can, if you wish experience staying in Khao Sok in a tree house or on the lake. Khao Lak has it all.

The only advise i can you you, is if you can. Please book in advance. Last season a lot of people were dissapointed because there was no room left on the boats or hotels.
