Advanced Course in the Similan Islands

Some Advice

Advanced Course in the Similan Islands is make up of 5 adventure dives. Each adventure dive can be done on its own . Most popular are the adventure deep and adventure night dive. By doing, the adventure dives individually it makes the advanced course more expensive. So its best if, you can do them all at once.

If you have the time. I would recommend that you get your manual, before you start the advanced course. Complete the knowledge reviews at the back of your book. Being prepared before you start your course, allows you to have a greater understanding of each adventure chapter. Also, do you really want to start reading, your book when everybody else is relaxing on the upper deck?.

The best way to enjoy your Advanced Course is on a liveaboard. That way, you do not miss out on experiencing a night dive. The night dive can only be done on a Similan Liveaboard. Day trip boats do not stay on the Similans long enough, to dive a night dive. Your advanced course can also be done on a day trips at Khao laks local reefs. First day – 3dives, second day – 2dives.

The Adventure Dives  – Advanced Course.

Personally I think the advanced course  is more enjoyable on a Similan liveaboard. The reason is, because you get to spend more time with your instructor and get a greater understanding of what you’re learning. Staying on the liveaboard gives you the opportunity to practice all you have been thought at a relaxed pace.

The Adventure dives, I recommend and Why?

  • Deep dive – it’s the reason why you should do the advanced courses 30 meters
  • Navigation – mandatory for the course
  • Peak performance buoyancy – better understanding about buoyancy techniques
  • night dive – completely different, diving in the dark
  • fish identification – you will learn about marine life and it’s fun.
